Now I Remember!!!

I am loving this nice weather! This is why I live in chicago, I remember now! Around February I seem to forget and get all grouchy bc well, lets face it, how much fun is it to dig your car out of the snow day after day, or bundle up with so many layers you can barely fit in your car, yet you still feel the biting cold? Not so much fun, but then, march and april roll around and the sun peaks out and it begins to get warm and its like a long forgotten memory resurfacing. Yes! If you notice more of a jaunt in my step or a bigger smile on my face you are not mistaken. I am walking lighter(the snow isn't weighing me down and I don't have to wear heavy boots) and I am grinning my ass off bc I love the feel of sunshine on my face. My moods change with the weather. I'm guilty and I can't help it. So here I am .....looking forward to Summer!

Don't frown because you never know who is falling in love with your smile :)

warm.......sun...ahhhhhh

Hey ya'll I am finally back and I'm not too sure I'm happy about that. Florida was incredible. Just really relaxing and did I mention the weather was great! It is so warm. Why do I live in Chi-Town again? Still wondering that but I am sure in about a month or two I will remember why. When everyone comes out of their hermit and summer life begins once again. Not too much longer here. I think 2 years is going to be the max in my life. Can't stay in one place longer than that. Need some different scenery. But I seriously had the best time with the fam. My dad and grandparents are a riot. I think I have the beginnings of a tan!! Jealous? I am and I was there. He he :) Have a great weekend and I'll be back to regular bloggin on monday.

Boys Boys and more Boys

I have a new crush, move over Ryan Gosling (I'm just kidding, but kind of step back a sec, don't go anywhere in case I wanna grab your butt)and let in Joshua Jackson. Those of you will recognize him from Dawson's Creek as "Pacey". Well I just saw the movie 'Cursed' and he was looking hot hot hot hot hot. Um....did I mention hot. Yeah well he's another butt I would like to grab.

"He's so hot he makes my teeth sweat" .....*if you can figure out where this quote came from than you have won the cool points for the day. If it takes people awhile then I will give more clues later...but ....come on really, you should know this one if you're an avid fan of the 80's. Movie or Television? That's for you to decide.

ghostbuster green slime

I am sitting at work trying desperatley to keep my eyes open. The only thing keeping my attention now is the left over green highlighter that I put on my fingernails Saturday in spirit of St. Patrick's Day Parade/everybody come to my bar and be annoying. Soap and water doesn't seem to be the trick in removing the lasting stain so I am stuck with the slime green residue clinging to my fingers. How embarrasing.

I also saw a movie last night that has decided to embed itself in my memory and I can't stop thinking about it. "Stage Beauty" with Claire Danes, and Billy Crudup. I thought the flick was really cool, it was suspensful in a way that I didn't know what was coming next. Not scary suspenseful but a hold your breathe in anticipation suspenseful. Now I am not a movie critic and at times I like movies that no one else likes or dislike one that everyone else loves but I have to think that if a movie sticks in my mind the way some do then it is worth noting. Of course this could all be based on the fact that I think Billy Crudup is very fine looking, or that I love Claire Danes as an actress because she isn't over-exposed to the point where I can't see her playing certain parts. There are a lot of elements that add to my infatuation with this film. Hell maybe I'll even buy it.

Here are what some critics thought so you don't think I am trying to give this flick too much credit. We're all entitled to our opinions and emotions.

New York Post, Megan Lehmann
"...Claire Danes and Billy Crudup certainly spark a terrific chemistry on screen."

filmcritic.com, Blake French
"It's pretty to look at, but it's nothing special to think about."

Film Journal International, David Noh
"...Crudup, although he works hard, is simply too lightweight and lacks the believable depth of a true artist.

Hollywood Reporter, Ray Bennett
"...a highly entertaining romp that is as teasingly clever as it is great fun."

But then I decided to watch another movie after this one. "Ladder 49". In short, I gave myself one hell of a headache from crying my eyes out.

Happy Monday to all and to all a good week. Let's hope it goes by fast so I can get to florida to visit my dad.

Oh the travesty!

The price of my animal crackers went up 10 cents. Yesterday they were 65 cents, today they are 75 cents. I hate inflation.

I LOVE WORK!

5 reasons why its more fun (FOR ME) to work a full week at one job instead of half a week at one job and the other half at another job...

1.'Hump Day' Actually makes sense because it's the middle of job A's work week, instead of being the split between job A and job B (Then it would be called 'wall day'.

2. I actually get used to getting up every morning instead of early 3 mornings, then staying up late the last three days (this applies to someone with 1 day job and 1 night job)

3. There is 'jean friday' to look forward to. (You can only wear thongs for so many days)

4. I get to hear more work drama*

5. More days = more pay (this one only applies to hourly employees, sorry to all the grown ups with salary + benefits...one day I'll be there)

*this entails any and every juicy bit of information I can get my hands on. i.e. who is dating who, who is mad at who, and who thinks their boss is a self absorbed prick.

But because I am extra extra special I get to work the full week at job A as well as work the last half of the week at job B. Am I complaining?
Probably but it's more clothes I get to buy so I don't have to wear those same damn pants again. I think I hid them in the back of my closet.
Happy Thursday!

Run FAST or I'll Catch You, No, Seriously...I Will.

I had a dream that I kept getting kidnapped over and over again. I would escape only to be re-captured 5 minutes later in my hurried state of madness. And then...I shaved my head bald....because...well I don't know why in the hell I did it! But in my dream, as soon as it was shaved I was pissed because I remembered that I am trying to grow my hair long and now I was going to have to start all over again.
But then I awoke to a weird, vibrating sound coming from my hand. (No it was not a vibrator.) It was my cell phone! I must have grabbed it in the middle of the night and held on for dear life. Was that my life line out of my dream? Was I trying to call my way out of the horror or did I just think I was that special that I was going to get a call in the early a.m and I so wanted to be prepared? Guess we'll never know. But at least I have my hair back.

i'm.neurotic

I have become what I always said I wouldn't become..a robot, a filler of space, someone just going through the motions. I go through my daily routine without really realizing what I am doing. And do you know how I came across this brilliant observation? I put on a pair of pants this morning thinking that I haven't worn them to work yet only to realize upon closer inspection (which happened to be a missing button) that I have indeed worn these exact pants on a similiar workday, probably not more than two weeks ago. And recently, this isn't the first time I have done this. I almost left the house last monday wearing the exact shirt I had worn on Thursday, before some other odd thing (like my sleeves being buttoned) gave it away and saved me.

I'm not a freak I promise you, I am just one of those people that have time lined my life by what people have worn. Grandma's birthday party...'oh yeah those were the skinny american eagle jeans'...22nd birthday...'to die for white tank with brown cords, of course i remember that party'....academy awards party....'shells wore the black dress, duh!' What! Doesn't everyone do this? Ok probably not but it is still a big deal to me. So for me to get dressed in practically the same thing I was recently seen wearing not only once but twice in a month period is like finding out the family pet has an incurable disease and has 6 months to live. WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE. Other than losing my ability to dress myself I'm just not quite sure anymore. Could be the pounding headache I have, or the abrubt way I awoke at 5 a.m. to realize my struggles were being ceased by a near suffication of all 5 blankets on my bed. Jesus I thought someone was trying to kill me only to realize that I'm not the most peaceful sleeper.

Oh and because I was so god awful tired this morning I said screw it and wore the damn pants.

fruity..fairy..cakes..i see a pattern here..

While searching for free fonts online I came across these fonts and it got me to thinking....

"universal fruitcake"

"year supply of fairy cakes"

Yes these are actually fonts..and so I ask the questions, what is this fetish with cakes? I wonder what a year supply of fairy cakes would be like? How does a universal fruitcake taste? And who in the hell is fruity enough to come up with these names?

This is what I have been pondering this morning as I am for once having a legitimate workday that includes actual work.

huh?!

I decided to decline from the lunch invitations today. I usually get one a day and if I am lucky I'll get two because the employees like hassling me or because one or the other didn't get the memo so they both end up asking. But, once again, I declined. A lot of it has to do with avoidance and I spend about 20 minutes a day thinking of a legitimate excuse as to why, once again, I can't go today. I decided instead to sit at my computer, check/update blogs, and eat a yogurt while washing it down with a sugar free red bull. What a lunch I tell ya. I'm trying to be healthy and my form of healthy is eating small quantities (which is next to nothing during the day) and whatever that quantity is it needs to be good for me. Now don't get me wrong, I used to pack a very generous and still healthy lunch, that consisted of a sandwich, jello or yogurt, some wheathins and of course the red-bull. But I noticed that the more I ate during the day at work, the more tired I was by 2p.m and I just can't have that. There is nothing worse than staring at the time in the bottom right hand corner of my computer and watching the minutes click by. 2:01, 2:02, 2:03. I literally check it that many times. Yeah I know this means that I just dont' have enough work to do but after I go all nazi in the morning and get everything together and set up, I just can't fathom the idea of doing anything remotely productive after lunch. Until....that is, I discovered that if I settle for just having the yogurt and the red-bull I am actually full enough and awake enough to carry on throughout the day.

Yes, I am a loser! No, I don't have an eating disorder! For those of you worried or sickened by the above statements let me just clarify that when I get home I eat a very large dinner that consists of more than two things. We're all proud now I'm sure and everyone is dummer now that they've read this post.

I'm gonna be a poser too and say 'Happy Hump Day'
