bars,party,hospitals,stitches-priceless

Well, to say it was a pretty uneventful weekend would be an understatement. My body finally gave up around 8:30 pm last night and I went into the best coma-state-like slumber I've had in a while. All due to the festivities from Saturday night. But let me back up a bit and start from the beginning.

After waking up at the butt crack off dawn Saturday morning at 7a.m., why in the hell I keep doing that I have no idea, I struggled though the half morning haze of anxiety for the outfit I had yet to find for my work's christmas party that very same evening and the hope that I wouldn't be hungover from all of the alcohol I had consumed Friday night. Not too mention someone must have spiked melinda's beer, wine and liquor she consumed the night before bc it was proving difficult for her to even keep down water. I felt horrible for her. (Glad to hear you are feeling better though doo doo) That afternoon I felt like I jumped from store to store when actually it was more of a crawling drive with all of the traffic, just to find cute and inexpensive digs for the evening bash. That proved to be more difficult that I originally planned but after about 2 hours, 3 non-intelligent sales clerks and about 1/2 a tank of gas (everything is in a 5 miles radius too so imagine that why don't ya) i finally arrived home to a somewhat better feeling melinda and about 45 minutes to get ready. I survived and got to the party at a reasonable hour, had cocktails, great dinner and a bit of dancing. Those crown and diets are mmm mmm delicious and I guzzled a 1/2 dozen of those as the night unfolded.

However, just when I thought the night was over and a group of us youngins were heading to the door to find another watering hole, one of our fellow employees must have had one too many and was drunk beyond belief. At first we tried to very quietly get him to leave in a cab with us so the president of the company wouldn't see him but that didn't work so well. The president was finally called over to help him in a cab and not two seconds after 'the man' walked back into the club our drunk friend musta got out of the cab when we weren't looking and started walking down the drive. The only thing that made us aware of his escape was the lound SMACK we heard at the end of the drive. He had fell on his face and busted his eye pretty much open.

The rest of the night consisted of 4 of us cabbing it to one of their houses, me trying to mop up the blood that wouldn't stop pouring out of his head all the while trying to hold the garbage can under him while he puked. I think by this time I was the most sober so I told everyone that we had to take him to the hospital bc he had to get stitches. The cut was way too deep and the fact that he was puking so much and I couldn't tell if he was puking blood bc so much of it was running down his face led me to believe that the hospital was a good decision. So I"m thinking possible concussion maybe. We pile everyone into the car and I drive us to the hospital. It's about 1a.m. at this point. Let me just clarify a very simple, but very important fact. I hate hospitals! With a passion. I get lightheaded, my heart races and I feel like at any minute I'm either going to puke, cry or pass out. I don't know why I"m like this but I am. Luckily I was so focused on our friend that none of this really happened. I was definitley lightheaded and my heart was racing but under these circumstances who wouldn't have these symptoms. I'm sure we were all a sight too. The four of us are still wearing our party digs and one is bleeding from his face, I'm covered in blood from my face, hands and front shirt since i was holding him most of the night and the other guys are still in their suits.

At 5a.m he still hadn't been seen and I was falling asleep on two of the very uncomfortable waiting room chairs. (You'd think they'd make them more comfortable since people spend fricking eternity in that room! Another reason why I hate hospitals. They take to damn fucking long) So its me, my friend Jeremy, a couple we work with and our friend bleeding in the wheelchair, well not really bleeding so much anymore but you get the point. The couple told jeremy and I to go ahead and head home since there was no reason for all of us to keep waiting there and one of them lived right around the corner. So Jeremy and I headed home, I think I got to sleep around 5:30a.m. But then.....oh it gets better...melinda wakes me up at 7a.m. bc she had an early flight that morning and we had to get up and take her. (love you doo doo. :) wish you could've stayed longer though) I'm working off of less than 2 hours. I felt like shit to put it mildly. The rest of Sunday played out like this....driving to the airport, TWICE, driving Jeremy to get his car, IN THE BURBS, trying to drop my car off to get looked at since the maintenance required light was now on, TWICE, and some random errands. By the time I had finished my laundry, ate dinner, showered and relaxed for a bit with Shells, my body just completely shut down. I attempted to work on my computer for all of about 30 minutes and then I gave up and crawled to my bedroom and under my covers.

So that was my weekend in a nutshell. Still a little tired and very much behind on what I needed to get accomplished this weekend. GREAT! So now I have to play make up for the next three days before I go home and face the relatives for Thanksgiving. I'm not being punished am I?
